Each of the 11 CR Area Blog Posts will follow a similar convention (layout) format. For those CR Areas covering more stops and checklists the content included will understandably be more extensive.

CR Area Groupings – Throught this birding adventure we tabulated eBird checklists at over 60 locations. In this blog series, I am grouping together checklists generated from the same general location and with simiar life zones into what I call CR Areas. Some CR Areas may include only 1 checklist due to the uniqueness of the area, but most CR Areas will include several public and private hotspots.

Blog Post Content Layout – Each blog post will provide inforation about each area in roughly the same order.

  • Physiographic & eBird Information – will include the Holdridge Life Zone, elevations, rainfall, links to eBird hotspots, and a link to the eBird Trip Report for that Area.
  • Photos and anedotal accounts of each of the main locations in that CR Area.
  • Unusual/exciting highlights encountered in the CR Area.

Gallery of Images from the CR Area – Thumbnail images will be included in a gallery at the end of each post with hyperlinks to full-sized version of each image.

ABOUT ME

Through my lens and prose I hope to instill a greater sense of awe, compassion and inspiration as I discover new creatures, explore interesting habitats, and gain wisdom about the natural world that’s all around us. It is my hope that readers are motivated to learn more about our environment and its inhabitants, and become passionate advocates for conservation.

I earned my college degree in biology, a foundation that shaped not only how I see the world, but how I’ve spent my life sharing it with others. For more than 35 years, I worked in education as both a teacher and administrator, guiding students through the wonders of science and the joy of discovery. That same spirit of curiosity has carried me through decades of volunteer work in citizen science and conservation. This blog brings together my passions for birding, conservation, and storytelling.
